Well, Home Depot strikes again, not with a bad product but with very bad customer service. My husband bought a drill there a few months back which had a lifetime warranty and Home Depot customer service assured him that if the drill broke he could just take it back to the store and get a new one.

Guess what? NOT – the drill broke and he took it back to Home Depot with the purchase receipt, as customer service advised him to do, but he left the store empty handed. Actually, with his broken drill. Home Depot customer service told him that the store was no longer honoring the lifetime warranty in that product and he would have to take to the manufacturer, Rigid. Just awful, what a poor customer service Home Depot is offering, it just makes you so frustrated that stores still keep on fulling customers and saying yes to perks but when it’s time to render the service it you get a big no no. They have no idea of the consequences it can cause someone; he was counting on having a new drill ASAP to go back to work. Next you know, he had to buy another one b/c he couldn’t wait over a week to have his drill fixed – the job needed to be done the same day. So, another $250 was spent on a new Rigid drill.

So, next time you buy something from Home Depot with a Lifetime warranty, make sure the service can be offered at the store as they might promise, or go to another store.

I don’t know why and how Google took my blog PR4 to 0 overnight, it’s very upsetting. I think Google is changing their algorithm to something else and more changes will happen between the end of the year and 2009 Q1.

See this video about Speculation about Google changes in Q1.

The Google dance is a pain – we have to abide by their rules 24/7 but Google can just take it all away anytime they feel like.

Anyone else experienced a PR drop lately?

Let me know.

Well, well, it’s only a week after I made my first purse cake and I just made another one! I recall myself saying I would not do another purse cake anytime soon; it’s just a lot of work. But, I could not refuse the order; mostly b/c I do enjoy making these fun cakes and getting people’s reactions! The money is okay, I gave my hairdresser a deal holding on her promise to advertise my cakes in her salon.

This one is a D&G purse cake and it’s brown, but the chocolate fondant sags a little and bubbled up here and there but it looks real. And, this time around, the cake is even better than the first time – I made sure it completely cooled over night wrapped in plastic to keep its moisture.

The handle was done last Sunday just so it was totally dry and hard – I still need to deliver it to her salon and I will have to drive at 20 miles/hr to make sure nothing cracks OMG it would be disaster, after all that work. Yes, it takes either almost an entire day or two night of work.

All worth it! I am sure they birthday girl will love it and be totally surprised. I got to make sure I have picture from her reaction.

Here it is, in all of its glory 😉

It was the hardest cake I ever made! It took me about 5-6 hours to get the actual cake done and then another 3 hours to decorate. I didn’t even finish all of the details but I think it looks awesome!

It’s a green Dooney & Burke handbag cake; made of chocolate chip vanilla cake and chocolate cream cheese butter cream icing; so yummy! I can say for sure, after all of this work, this purse cake could sell for at least $150 plus; after all of the little details are finished.

If you are novice, you are looking at an entire day of work, at least, and maybe more details the next day.

Well, I did it!

Dooney & Burke Handbag - it's a cake!

I will post the steps I will have to take to get this puppy done. So, check out the blog again by end of next week and I will have it here.
