I started my Online Weight Watchers diet today, 7 day free trial- points all over the place LOL… It’s kind of annoying at first, having to figure out the daily meals and points etc. But, you’ve got to put some effort right. So, I am doing it. I hope it works.

Right now, I can eat 20 pts, but if I wake up late I might cut down even more — late breakfast, late lunch, maybe not even dinner – a couple of snaks and I can even save some points… will see. I printed my daily meal.. today… drumm roll… my menu is …

If I get serious about it, I can actually print the weekly meals and get off the plan w/o paying the $65 for 3 months. That’s what I plan on doing. But, the site has so much info and different tools that makes you want to stay for a little longer.

If I am really serious about it, I think I can loose my 20 lbs in 2-3 months and be ready for summer!!!! I will even try to fit in my Brazilian bathing suit again WOW! That would make me feel so good 😉

“Meu marido nunca me fez feliz e não me faz feliz! Eu sou feliz”.

E continuou:

BE HAPPY – even when it’s too hot, even if you are sick, even if you don’t have money, even if someone hurt you, even if someone doesn’t love you or doesn’t think you are worth their time. Just ask God to give you “serenity to accept the things you can’t change, courage to change the things you have control over, and wisdom to understand the difference between them.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

I saw the cute Google image and realized it was Earth Day – shame on me.. I didn’t wake up thinking about it.

But, seriously, I care and I hope we all can do our little part to save the planet. Sunday night I watched Expedition Alaska – Alaska is a land of breath-taking natural diversity, but it is changing at a rapid rate. A team of some of the world’s top scientists and wildlife filmmakers explore this remote landscape to document what impact global warming is having on Alaska.

It’s scary to see how the ice is melting and global warming is rising. No wonder I got burned on Sunady with only 2 hours of sun  LOL … geesh!

Ten things you can do this Earth Day

Canwest News Service – Published: Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Wondering how you can make a difference? Here are 10 things you can do to help the planet, whether it’s Earth Day or not.

1. Leave your car at home for a day (or a week or a month) and try walking or biking. If work is too far away to walk, take public transit or carpool. One city bus eliminates the emissions of 40 cars.

2. Turn off the lights, the computer and the television when they are not in use. Using only highly efficient and money-saving appliances can reduce the electricity consumption of an average household to one-10th of the national average.

3. Try eating meat-free at least one day a week. A meat-based diet requires seven times more land than a plant-based diet. Livestock production is responsible for more climate change gasses than all the motor vehicles in the world.

4. Choose foods produced organically, locally and in season. Support your regional farmers and farming industry: buying locally and in season is better for the environment than buying foods that have been shipped hundreds of kilometres to your local market.

5. Put a composter in your backyard or use your green bin to reduce household waste. Composting organics has two key benefits: it reduces the amount of waste going to landfills and when added to your garden, helps nourish soil and plants.

6. Turn off your car’s engine if stopped for more than 10 seconds. If every driver of a light-duty vehicle avoided idling by five minutes a day, collectively, we would save 1.8 million litres of fuel per day, almost 4500 tonnes of GHG emissions.

7. Set your thermostat above room temperature in the summer and below room temperature in the winter. For each degree you adjust, you can save 5% on your utility bill and 1% on your energy use.

8. Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). A CFL uses only 25% as much energy as an incandescent bulb and lasts 10 times longer.

9. The simple act of recycling has more impact on the environment than the average Canadian thinks. The amount of wood and paper North Americans throw away each year is enough to heat five million homes for 200 years.

10. This is a great opportunity to brag. Tell someone what you’re doing to make the world a better place. Support the cause. Encourage them to get involved too.

I can’t believe I just saw an ATT commercial that is very similar to the one from Comcast. The definition of copycat, by dictionary.com  = a person or thing that copies, imitates, mimics, or follows the lead of another, as a child who says or does exactly the same as another child. So, ATT is suing Comcast’s idea for crazy voices in their TV commercials.

I personally like Comcast’s’ ads better. The “MORE, MORE, MORE” ads are great; original and fun! Now, ATT is using the same idea and it just looks so lame and not original. I cancelled my ATT services to get fully loaded with Comcast at a lower rate, at least for 12 months LOL – will see what happens after that.

And More

Tell me which commercial you like better, Comcast or copycat ATT?
