It was a Sunday morning when I was watching Jack LaLanne’s, 92 years old, looking no more than 80, which is pretty good for 92. And, he was there juicing it all up with his wife and another actress. It all seemed so simple, fun, and healthy. Well, I said to my husband “I bought it!” and I was so excited and proud of my Juicer purchase from a Sunday morning show – a real impulse purchase; but, I still thought it was a good one.
The juicer came after a few weeks. It looked like it was made in China! Well, it was. The first time I tried it was a mess and I admit, I made a mistake and the juice started to overflow. So, I read the manual and tried a second time. Guess what? The motor died even before I finish juicing my fruits. I was mad – I was actually looking forward to keeping the juicer; but it died ;-( right there on my granite counter top. The juice is delicious but the product is low quality. So, what’s next? Return Road – it’s actually the name of the address I have to send it back to LOL – I wonder why the name. So, I am waiting for my return label and that’s it – my juicing days are over, at least with Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer. I DON’T RECOMMEND IT.

I received the Power Juicer as a gift from my mother. I had another far superior juicer that I had been using for years with no problems what-so-ever. Within twoo weeks, the “Power Juicer” has died on me three times. I had to call the hotline to trouble shoot. The last 10 times I tried to call the customer service number was busy…I guess they went out of business.
I would highly recommend looking at another product. This machine is made of plastic and very cheaply made.
Very dissappointed!!!!
Hi Jill – I totally agree. I was very disapointed as well; also b/c when I made the purchase I was so excited and could not wait to get it and start juicying away. What was the other Juicer you had, the one that didn’t break, do you still use it?
Maybe, since I got mine, the Juicer got better, but I would not bet on it.
I AGREE. THE POWER JUICER PRO DOES NOT WORK. IT CHOPS INSTEDA OF JUICE (CUCUMBER). IT JAMS FREQUENTLY AND IS VERY MESSY TO CLEAN UP. I CANNOT GET THROUGH TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL TO GET THE REQUIRED RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER/FORM THAT I NEED IN ORDER TO RETURN THIS CHROM PLATED PLASTIC MADE IN CHINA JUICER. NEVER AGAIN WILL MY IMPULSE OVER-RULE MY COMMON SENSE!!!
Sorry to hear about your disappointment with the Jack Lalane’s Power Juicer – I had to call customer services at least twice to get them to send me that return label. I also asked to keep the recipe books b/c the product just broke so soon. I was upset; I was really excited with the purchase at first. But, not a good product ;-( Good luck and keep trying them, you will through it.
Look, regardless of the product made- NO MATTER WHO makes it- sometimes things fail. The best and most reliable things in the WORLD will sometimes fail, sooner than they are supposed to- that’s what a warranty is for.
If your replacement burns out in a few days, then you have a legitimate complaint.
Hi Ryan,
I appreciate your comment; but, in my opinion, when something breaks in my second try, it’s garbage. Also, I could feel it shaking more than it should, the clean up was not as simple and easy as the commercial claimed. Plus, I could tell it was made of cheap material. Not something sturdy that would last. Thanks again!
If you guys want your reviews to be taken seriously, you might want to use spellcheck.
Hi Robin – hey thanks for the comment and I appreciate you bringing up my typos. I guess I was so upset when I wrote about the horrible Jack LaLanne’s juicer purchase that I even forgot to use spell check. Regardless, my review is very true and, unfortunately, the product cannot be fixed with a click of a button like the grammar errors. Take care!
Thank you all for the warning, I was going to purchase a juicer but after reading all the reviews I have changed my mind. It all sound so good in the commercial but its not worth the problems of having to return it if it doesnt work.
I am glad I was able to help
Happy New Year!
Ditto to all those comments above. The machine juiced properly for me just once before it started vibrating heavily, seizing up and finally just wouldn’t even turn on anymore. It’s a bonafide piece of garbage and I will discourage anyone from ever wasting their money. I’ve tried 3 times now to get return shipping labels; all have been empty promises. These people are just rip-offs in my opinion. It’s too bad, I grew up as a kid in the 60’s watching Jack Lalanne on TV. He was great …
Hi, I was just looking to buy another Jack la lanne juicer. I have had my original one for 3 years and it works fine. i was thinking of getting the stainless steal one. I believe that A) Even the space shuttle breaks down on first flights and it costs way more than this juicer and B) I will stay with my original plastic juicer it does the daily job well and I have no need to feed my ego with a steal one.
Thanks folks!
I am glad your juicer works. I wish I had the same luck -NOT! Thanks for the comment
It’s not a steal one, it’s a “steel” one. Holy mackeral, dumb-dumb
I have ordered a juicer, and was enticed to ‘upgrade’ – I have not even received the juicer yet and noticed their website has changed its offer/price and juicer styles 2x… in a couple weeks. So, my top of the line, juicer is now not so top of line. I also realized the soy upgrade may not be included with mine as they changed up the name – most importantly – you cannot get a hold of anyone at the juicer customer service line. Its a hoax. If Jack was a good businessman, he would ensure someone would answer the phone and answer questions/concerns. Before I even receive the juicer, I want to send them to the BBB. A poor example of doing business. What a shame, I was looking forward to receiving and using my juicer.
Wow, that is really bad news; sorry to hear that. Your situation seems almost worse than mine. I hope you get in touch with their support line, I was able to. Good luck and thanks for the comment.
Maybe they are victoms of their own marketing and poor planning. I did not mean to seem supportive of them, just that I was shocked @ all the bad press. I guess it could be a possi ility that they started out well and then had to mass produce at a higher rate of demand, thus putting out a cheaper product. Don’t know.I hope you ladies/gentlemen get your areas of concern addressed. I myself get very peeved when I buy an item and it does not perform as expected.
Good luck on the soy attachment(what ever that is) and I pray you get your juicer and it works well!
Please use spell check. Victim
Hello guys
I would appreciate it very much if any of you give me the customer service number for the lalane juicer. We accidentally threw away the box and all the manuals. I need to order a new sieve. I was ok until I decided to take the commercial upon their word when they said you can stick a whole apple there and not have to cut it up. I ended up with a small hole on the side of the sieve. I love the juice, but I hate the mess, and the cleaning. thanks a lot.

Thank you for the information. I tried calling. I thought it was my lucky day, because I got through right away. I made my choice from the recorded menu, but then I got the recorded soft voice telling me that due to the over whelming call volume, my waiting time will be too long, and I was advised to call later. My plan B is to find someone who exhausted their patience, and decided to through away the juicer, and they wouldn’t mind selling me the part I need.
I have
the Jack Lalane power juicer model CL003AP 250 w
No E232068
LISTED 52EG
Basically I need the inside sieve, but I don,t mind buying the pitcher, and the cup too in case mine break.
my phone No is 330 207 8673. if any one is interested.
It is becoming impossible to get through the customer service line. I ordered my power juicer on Jan 2 09 after my mother-in-law saw it and thought it would be a nice gift. I’m still waiting for it. When I checked online, it says my order is still processing. I want to call and cancel, but I can’t through nor am I able to find an email. And I thought Comcast CS was bad.
Hi Will – I am so sorry to hear this – gee I guess after all I even got lucky I was able to return the juicer. Keep trying, tehy have to answer.
I too was excited with the commercial. On impulse I decided to order on the phone. the sales person tried to sell me everything but the juicer that I wanted. I got so frustrated that I tried to cancel the order or so I think I did she hung up on me after I said to cancel. so I tried to call customer service and they could deny or confirm the order.
but judge on the feed back I’m glade to cancel.
I also wonder if Jack reads all the negative feedback
AFTER READING ALL THE COMMENTS IM GLAD I DIDNT ORDER ONE
i think i will look elsewhere for a juicwer
I was just getting ready to order a Jack La lane juicer, and decided to read your comments. Boy, I am so glad I did.
I had an awesome juicer for many years, (I cannot remember the brand) it broke when I was moving. I since bought 3 different ones, but they were garbage. Can someone recommend a good one ?
So I have to wait for a return label, dam…. This is not at all like the TV. Shar Jackson, is this why you don’t get any show.
Why put your name to this…Maybe Fed is not helping your after all with the money he’s getting from Bitney.
I ordered my Power Juicer online 3.5 months ago, got confirmation / receipt. 10 weeks passed, never received anything, so I bought a different brand (which is pretty good). My card never got charged for the power juicer and I couldn’t find a link to check the status online. Couldn’t reach customer service over the phone, and now reading all the reviews I am glad they never sent me the juicer.
I guess they must be going out of business; it’s amazing how bad it got.
For whatever it’s worth, the infomercial just came on a few minutes ago, same old one they’ve been airing for years with the actress with the horse teeth. But damn do I want to try some green apple juice.
is there another brand that is good to add whole fruit too , if someone know of 1 that doesnt cost more than 200.00
The “Cadillac” of juicers is Vitamix. They have a great reputation. My sister bought hers off their website and even ordered the custom color and all the fun attachments. She paid over $500 for it, but uses it every morning for her and her husband. She LOVES it. They have a Vitamix at CostCo for under $400, which I’ve heard is really good from a few coworkers and friends.
Wow! $500 is a lot, but she makes good use of it. But, when I had my juicer, for a brief couple of weeks, I also noticed you need a lot of fruits and/or vegetables to make one cup of juice; so, it gets really expensive too. Well, glad your sister can do it. Maybe I wil t ry the Vitamix juicer ne day. Thanks for the tips.
You don’t find anything better than a VitaMix. I had my first one for 28 years and begged it to quit–it wouldn’t! I even ground grain and kneaded bread dough in it. I went ahead and bought the new VitaMix since it is twice as powerful. It liquifies grape seeds, cantaloupe seeds, cores etc. The best part of the pineapple is the core. The best part of strawberries are the green tops. The VitaMix liquifies it all–cantaloupe seeds contain 92 nutrients. I was going to buy the power juicer because, although I use my VitaMix every day, it keeps all the fiber. This doesn’t allow the nutrients to be absorbed quite as quickly as pure juice without the fiber. I want both but will not buy the power juicer of Jack LaLane due to all these bad comments. Thanks!
I saw the commerical this morning, and was all ready to buy. After all, I’ve seen his commericals for years, and something is working for him. He is in his 90+! But now I am skeptical of the service. Considering millons were sold, the comments here represents a small percentage of unsatisfied customers. Still I’d rather be safe than sorry.
Can anyone recomend a good juicer with the supplying company providing great customer service. Thanks.
Wow! After reading all of the negative reviews for the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer, I am glad I did not have the winning bid on Ebay for this product. I would have spent $65 + $20 shipping for a product I would not have liked.
I just finished looking at the commercial in regards to Jack Lanaines power juicer. I signed onto my computer with credit card in hand. Thank God that I decided to research some of the reviews. I definitely will not purchase his product.
Thanks of all of the reviews, as it saved me money
Jack Lalanne what a piece of junk. Not only does it not work properly, they are trying to bill me an additional 59.99 for shipping, handling and insurance.
I bought it on the TV Commercial that said just 4 easy payments of 29.99. It came in a white box with no extra accessories. They are trying to get me to pay the additional 59.99 which was not disclosed to me. I have stopped my credit card company from paying it. Jack Lalanne Juicer sucks and so do the people that are trying to take me for 59.99 shipping, handling and insurance. Screw Jack Lalanne and his juicer made in China. I have never had bad credit, but they can kiss my ass. Never another thing from Jack Lalanne.
The morons that keep calling and sending letters have no idea what they are talking about. They will not listen to what I have to say. They are mean spirited, rude and can kiss my ass again.
Wow! that’s one angry customer – but you are right. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comments. It will save me
money.
Hi
I was debating between Breville and the power juicer but guess I am going to stick with Breville. I also have a question for the folks who bought directly from them – was the price different from retail stores? I am planning to pick up the Breville which is the same price as the powerjuice pro ($149) and use my 20%. Bed bath and beyond does have a good return policy. I have returned defective opened items back with no issues. Anyway hope there are no such issues with Breville.
Good luck Kris – I think any other product will be better than the power juicer
I finally got a replacement juicer from the company after 3 calls and 12 weeks of waiting. I haven’t even opened the box yet. I used to work in a health food store and we used Champion juicers there so maybe I’m a bit spoiled. But if I can’t juice carrots and beets then what’s the use?? These things only seem good enough for apples and pears etc. If you want to get serious about juicing, then think about paying 3-4 hundred dollars.
Hey I also have the Jack La La La Lane power juicer, and it works great for me. The negative is the long clean up. I have the white one, and it has worked great for 2 years now. Maybe your product was defective. Also I purchased my jucier from costco, a very reliable source
It’s possible I got a defective juicer, but I didn’t want to try again. I am glad at least one person here had a good experience with the Jack LaLane juicer.
You can get power juicer at shoppers-gate.com :

hi, everyone I have my Jack lalanne Power Juicer deluxe for 3year now and it works very well, infact I juice twice daily approximately 2 liter per juicing for 5~6 person. Yes it happen to me also the juicer shakes but I found out that it’s human error.. the thightening of the blade with Cresent tool was not enough that it cause the Filter to wiggle and hit the cover and this produce sound..so technically it’s not the unit that we should blame but ourselves.. sometimes we have to see and check the real reason of the problem.. inshort the JL POWER JUICER WORKS PERFECTLY AND HIGHLY recommended! infact it can Juicer more than the other brand I have tried one example is the JML from europe they claim so..
Thanks, Jenny Go
Monterey Park, Calif. USA
Now, you sound like you work for the juicer company. But, glad to hear at least one good review.
this lady webbyzard must work for another juicer company because she’s too interested into everybody’s comment, I had the lalanne jucer for years works great.
No, I don’t work for any juicer company. I am a consumer spreading the word of a product I didn’t like. Plus, as good blogger, you should reply to your blog visitors’ comments; it’s good blog practice.
i was watching that juicer on tv today and i went to my computer to order one but thank god i saw all thoes bad coments about jack lala juicer thank you you saved me from wasting my money thanks again i wont buy that foir sure i have enought garbage now dont want any more i wonder if jack ever see thoes coments
Well, my husband ordered this juicer and after reading all the reviews I was very, very worried. He ordered it on a Sunday and we received it by Wednesday. I read all my instructions thoroughly, thinking this would help me avoid the pitfalls so many have had!?! =)
Well, we tried it this morning and we thought it was amazing. So much juice with so little effort. We used plums and peaches, apples and celery, mixed and matched. It was quiet and well, amazing, I must say. We loved it. My kids loved it too! AND it was easy to clean up.
So…hopefully these good results will continue!
Great, at least we have a couple good reviews. Thanks for sharing.
HMMMMmmmm……the infomercial was on when I got home from church. My wife had it on. It was very convincing. We talked about it and decided to call but then, on second thought, went to our laptops to see how much it would be to order it online. My eyes were drawn to the reviews. WHEW!!!! There are positive and negative comments but we believe that the negatives far outweigh the positives; therefore, we will not be ordering this product.
I just used my juicer. I have had it over 3 years, i think closer to 4. Maybe they made them better back then. I use it weekly if not daily and i dont take good care of it. It is plastic, except for blades, mesh etc but i have never had an issue with it.
Dont know what to say…I feel somewhat badly for people but man, they all cant suck. I am not saying people here lie, i assume they are telling the truth…but this is a more negative site than positive. In my opinion even the space shuttle that costs Billions has issues, so maybe if a million were sold and only 10% sucked, and everyone that had an issue complained there would be 100K websites bashing the item. But in reality there are 900 Thousand people happy with it.
Just food for thought, rarely do people brag about whats right…why should they, it’s working as it should.
anyway, happy Thanksgiving everyone! God bless!
I have a Jack Lalane Juicer original and have had it now for over four years. It works great. Yes occassionaly the engine will run hot and will not start even after you plug it back up but it says that in the manual. Thats a protection feature to keep it from burning out. If you wait about 20 minutes and let it cool down it will start right up again. Read the manual it tells you thats the way its designed to protect the engine. I believe this is what happen to your juicer. I will be the first to say that if something breaks that soon it’s cheap and needs to be return but that’s after I have made sure I followed all instructions and directions on how to use it. In my opinon Jack Lalane’s juicer is one of the best well made affordable juicer on the market today. Try letting it cool down before you return it and prove me wrong.
